dash of perilFrom Goodreads:
To bring down a sleazy abduction ring, Lieutenant Margaret “Margo” Peterson has set herself up as bait. But recruiting Dashiel Riske as her unofficial partner is a whole other kind of danger. Dash is 6’4″ of laid-back masculine charm, a man who loves life—and women—to the limit. Until Margo is threatened, and he reveals a dark side that may just match her own.

Beneath Margo’s tough facade is a slow-burning sexiness that drives Dash crazy. The only way to finish this case is to work together side by side…skin to skin. And as their mission takes a lethal turn, he’ll have to prove he’s all the man she needs—in all the ways that matter.

My Thoughts:
Shooo Lori Foster is good at her job! Let’s start with what we know: Her covers rock, her storylines are strong, the men are hot, and the scenes are steamy. Need I really say more?

This is the 4th Lori Foster book I’ve read. I still get s little squirmy through the steamy scenes. We all know I’m a bit of a prude, but I really like Lori’s books.

I think this may be my favorite book of hers that I have read. I’ve liked all of them and their strong characters and serious storylines to go along with the love story. But this one, this one was a bit different. Yes, there are several strong men in this book, but what I liked most about it was Margo… she’s really the strong one here. She’s a lieutenant and her work is her life. She is known by some as a ball buster, but she’s respected and very independent. But in this book she grows so much. That’s easy to do when you have a rock like Dash come into your life.

Now let’s talk about Dash. He’s different from the other leading men that I’ve read about from Foster. They’re cops and undercovers and really have a background in being the tough guys. But Dash, Dash is different. He’s in construction. He has a brother that is a cop, but he’s not got the training the other ones have. I like that about him. Margo, and the other men from this series are the tough guys here. That means that Dash can sit back, relax and just be super duper charming. Granted, he steps up his game when he needs to, but it’s a nice change up.

I have missed a couple of books in this series, but I was still familiar with some of the characters, which was nice. What was also nice though, that while I’m reading in other reviews that these books flow well from one to another, from my perspective, they also stand alone. Oh and this one also introduces us to Cannon, an MMA fighter, who I’m happy to say will be the leading man in a new series by Foster that comes out later this year. You better believe I’ll be reading this series.

I have Dash of Peril 5 out of 5 bookmarks.
